FOR AMAZON SELLERS AND BRANDS CONSIDERING AMAZON

Every category looks big from the outside. Only some of them are actually winnable at your price.

Whether you’re already selling or still deciding where to start, we rank the category you’re considering by size, and by whether your pricing actually fits what buyers there already expect to pay.

WHY THIS MATTERS

“This category does $40M a year” is a headline, not a plan.

A category can be huge and still be a poor fit if your price point doesn’t match what buyers there already pay per unit. You’d be fighting your own pricing before you fight a single competitor. That’s true whether you’re already selling and eyeing a second category, or still deciding where to make your first move. Total category size and your real opportunity inside it are two different numbers, and most sellers only ever see the first one.

YOUR REAL OPPORTUNITY

HOW IT WORKS

Four steps, about 2 minutes to start

STEP 1
Apply
Tell us which category or product line you’re considering, and whether you’re already selling on Amazon or not yet launched.

STEP 2
We size the opportunity
We pull real category revenue, pricing, and competitive data for the category you’re considering.

STEP 3
We rank it against your pricing
A price-per-unit index sorts the opportunity into what’s realistically winnable now versus what needs a harder pricing fight.

STEP 4
A short call to walk through it
What tier your target category falls into, and what it would take to move into a better one if it’s not the easiest win today.

A REAL FINDING

The $41M category wasn’t the real opportunity. The $6M one was.

In one real breakdown we ran for a multi-category pantry-staples brand, the seller’s full addressable opportunity across every category they could expand into totaled roughly $41M. But once we ranked those categories by how closely the brand’s actual pricing lined up with what buyers already pay per unit in each one, the realistic near-term opportunity narrowed to about $6M. That’s not a smaller ambition. It’s the categories where the brand doesn’t have to win an uphill pricing fight just to get shoppers to consider it.

HONEST THINGS TO KNOW

No surprises

Does this guarantee demand or low competition?
No. This tells you where your pricing already fits. It doesn’t guarantee demand, competition levels, or that a category is right for your brand for other reasons (fit, supply chain, etc.).

How specific should my category be?
The more specific you can be, the sharper the breakdown. “Should I get into snacks” is harder to size than “should I get into single-origin dark chocolate bars.”

Is this a generic industry report?
No. This uses the same real market-sizing approach used in an actual expansion decision for a real multi-category seller, not a generic industry report.

I’m not selling on Amazon yet. Can I still apply?
Yes. Open to any stage: whether you’re already selling and considering a second category, or not yet on Amazon and deciding where to start, the same ranking logic applies, just with your live pricing in one case and your planned pricing in the other.

Find out if your category is actually winnable before you spend a dollar developing it.
